Low boost & rpm by Petros_GR on Thu Jun 03, 2010 7:37 am
My kawi (Ultra 250x '0 has riva plate, riva free air-filter, riva free riva exhaust, riva sponsons, tbm scoop, r&d anti-cavitation cone, and impeller skat-trak 13/19.
..After the last service(55hours) my kawi has lost acceleration and top speed(54mph)!! It can not reach more than 7-8psi in the boost meter and it has dificulty to overtake 7000rpm but outside the water it works normaly.
In the last service I changed sparks, oil, oil filter, sc belt and sc oil and I installed skat-trak 13/19 SK557520SW1319 and r&d anti-cavitation cone.
I already checked oil level, belt, sparks, fuel quality and sc.
Is the problem in the impeller or in the anti-cavitation cone or in anything else?

My first steps into modding my 07. by Hooah_Killer on Thu Apr 30, 2009 2:44 pm
So......this is it. I have sitting in boxes the Riva free flow exhaust, the pump shoe kit, the OCMS kit, a 6 degree timing key (thanks to Rudy) , the BOV block off, and the emission by-pass and all the parts to do the I/c reroute. On order is the R&D ride plate. Impros is doing a Stage III speed mod on the impeller and flowing the pump and putting in new bearings.

I do not have a large amount of time to actually do all of these myself. So during de-winterization, I will have the dealer do the OCMS and the timing key. I do hope during their spring inspection that when they do the compreesion check it will come back to warrant new pistons/pings and they will be more than obliged to use the 09 set. I still ave 2 years left on the extended warranty, so we shall see.

Cosmetically I will be removing all the factory annoying decals and putting on a few performance ones.

As I begin this project, I will take and post pics as I can. WIsh me luck to achieve 70!!!!!!!!

Pulling ski out of water Oct 2nd for winterization. I will have the dealer do all the inspections etc and do a compression check. By then Ill have my ocms fluid analysis back and maybe get 09 pistons out o it at least.

So 2010: 09 pistons
lx cams
hd fuel pump
fpr
1:1 rogue pulley and idler pulley (all this about 1.05 on pump gas and cracked heads bothers me)

goal is 73+mph

We all get dethroned one day. Enjoy it while you can

i took my ultra out at 7 am.

Demographic data: temp - 63 deg, DA - 2602, based on weather - 94.9% avail HP, 5 mph S wind (my cove run E-W), almost smooth water, 3/4 tank 93 octane, storage bucket removed.

1st run - 70.0@7965
2nd run - 70.2@7980
3rd run - 70.3@7995
4th run - 70.2@7980

So there I now have a GPS consistent 70ish u250x in my weather conditions. The increase air flow and sealing the rrp and intake holes helped.

Later in the day a 09 FZR from across the lake wanted to play..by then we had about moderate lake traffic 10 mph wind and some nice chop we both took off..appeared he had me out of the hole but then i pulled even and then went 2-3 boat lengths ahead, hit some rough stuff and stayed ahead....turned around to look, he had already stopped and turned around...still had 3/4 tank and my storage bin in.... so im still the king of speed at my end of loto.....someday i shall be dethroned.....but until then

while i had my jetdock moved today....i drilled out 4 x 1.5 in holes in the ecu cover (2 in the back of the storage bin-when i ride with that in), did the ram air mod, filled all the intake grate and ride plate holes......checked the plugs looked fine to me however, it only took a finger to unloosen them.....apparently not torqued to specs bt my dealer and now waiting for my epoxy stuff to dry,,will take out first thing 2 morrow am ,,,,,,,,,
