So......this is it. I have sitting in boxes the Riva free flow exhaust, the pump shoe kit, the OCMS kit, a 6 degree timing key (thanks to Rudy) , the BOV block off, and the emission by-pass and all the parts to do the I/c reroute. On order is the R&D ride plate. Impros is doing a Stage III speed mod on the impeller and flowing the pump and putting in new bearings.
I do not have a large amount of time to actually do all of these myself. So during de-winterization, I will have the dealer do the OCMS and the timing key. I do hope during their spring inspection that when they do the compreesion check it will come back to warrant new pistons/pings and they will be more than obliged to use the 09 set. I still ave 2 years left on the extended warranty, so we shall see.
Cosmetically I will be removing all the factory annoying decals and putting on a few performance ones.
As I begin this project, I will take and post pics as I can. WIsh me luck to achieve 70!!!!!!!!

Welllllll...the results are in. First I do love my dealer.......they stand behind any mod for warranty work an owner does as long as you tell them about it and they are more than willing to do the mods themselves and these guys are watching the turbo scene and the owner is good friends with dan 0keefe.....so who knows about next year......... They do read GH and i think Skip's board. i was the first i/c by-pass they had seen AND the first to see the impros mod......so the wrench that took it out was impressed with he impros mod..NOW if he had only done the timing rotor!!!!!!!! .....which is MY the ONLY COMPLAINT I have is their refusal to do the timing rotor with the engine in......... But to do a complete de-winter, a combined 20 and 50 hour check, the installation of the Riva plate, pump shoe kit, the pump and wedge and remove all the damn excess factory siicone, remove the big rear sticker and take it for a 30 min test drive only set me back $220 of which $88 were for plugs.............$70 bucks to install all of that and reseal and remove the old silicone!! my old dealer (they went of of business) charged $320 for a 20 hour alone!!!! ok results.....last year full tank, 75 degrees, 75 ish humidity, smooth lake water, completely stock I gps'd at 65.6 at around I think 7800ish rpm today 71 degrees, 75 %humidity, 20 mph winds and choppy water, full tank (that had been in the ski since oct last year), i gps'd at 69.6@7960 rpm ERRRRRRRR 4 fing tenths away!!!! NOW had I had smooth water, 1-2 bars fresh fuel, no chop could have i gained those 4 tenths????? MAYBE??? soooooo fing close!!!!!!!!!!! .........of course had i had the timing i would have easily topped 70 maybe made 71!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so when i go on vacation 2nd week of june I will attempt the timing mod myself.......... 4 finh tenths!!!!!!.......... btw i do love the more throaty sound of the riva free flow exhaust......tells "others" big bad red 250x coming or going .............

i like the riva plate and wedge really didnt notice any difference in turning etc the only reallllll difference was reverse but i can live with that now my vacation was been postoned by a week so sadly by the time i go on 6 jun the humidity will be up BUT i will do the timing change i gained 4 mph over stock 4 fing tenths man doesnt that irk you? soooooo close
so with the rpm at 7960 and 69.6 gps frickin cold water and chop do you think those numbers fall within the NORM????? i did NOT have time to put a level on the ride plate from what ive read without the timing this is about what to expect rpm and speed wise CORRECT???????

i am a member...it had rained all morning..then a 3 hour window without rain
it was a very windy 70 deg day i had 1/2 tank so i found a cove off the main that had zero wind effect and as the pic shows i now can claim 70 plus membership and this is WITHOUT the timing mod wait till i do that

i did the timing mod today.. it was as easy as everyone said it would be..i even remembered to turn the rotor towards the reverse level (but i had a mirror anyway)
the humidity and temps are killing my rpms...the DA was almost 3400 today ....however....my best rpm before the mod was 7550, after the mod was 7780 with a blip on 7800...now what that will equate out to speed??? ill have to find out the next couple of days...........as i forgot to bring the gps

while i had my jetdock moved today....i drilled out 4 x 1.5 in holes in the ecu cover (2 in the back of the storage bin-when i ride with that in), did the ram air mod, filled all the intake grate and ride plate holes......checked the plugs looked fine to me however, it only took a finger to unloosen them.....apparently not torqued to specs bt my dealer and now waiting for my epoxy stuff to dry,,will take out first thing 2 morrow am ,,,,,,,,,

i took my ultra out at 7 am.
Demographic data: temp - 63 deg, DA - 2602, based on weather - 94.9% avail HP, 5 mph S wind (my cove run E-W), almost smooth water, 3/4 tank 93 octane, storage bucket removed.
1st run - 70.0@7965 2nd run - 70.2@7980 3rd run - 70.3@7995 4th run - 70.2@7980
So there I now have a GPS consistent 70ish u250x in my weather conditions. The increase air flow and sealing the rrp and intake holes helped.
Later in the day a 09 FZR from across the lake wanted to play..by then we had about moderate lake traffic 10 mph wind and some nice chop we both took off..appeared he had me out of the hole but then i pulled even and then went 2-3 boat lengths ahead, hit some rough stuff and stayed ahead....turned around to look, he had already stopped and turned around...still had 3/4 tank and my storage bin in.... so im still the king of speed at my end of loto.....someday i shall be dethroned.....but until then

Pulling ski out of water Oct 2nd for winterization. I will have the dealer do all the inspections etc and do a compression check. By then Ill have my ocms fluid analysis back and maybe get 09 pistons out o it at least.
So 2010: 09 pistons lx cams hd fuel pump fpr 1:1 rogue pulley and idler pulley (all this about 1.05 on pump gas and cracked heads bothers me)
goal is 73+mph
